Korean food.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. We are fine. It is so good to be blipping again. So where have I been ? Well you see my tablet updated and decided that it no longer wanted to chat to my camera. I tried contacting Samsung but didn't get a satisfactory reply. Eventually we went back to the shop where I bought my camera and they very kindly helped me to reconnect. They spent about half an hour with us. Hubby was also experiencing some downloading issues and they advised him to purchase a card reader, the speed of downloading using the reader is amazing.

So life here limps on. We can still use the pool, but still only four people at a time and two people in the gym. This is fine, except new arrivals are not told and merrily jump in the pool. Only restaurants can sell alcohol, apart from liquor stores and supermarkets, so no bars are open. This is not quite true as many bars now sell food, even if it is only kebabs and snacks. There is a system here known as "tea money", this basically means paying the police off. When Phuket was closed to tourists the Chief of Police there actually complained that many of his officers couldn't afford to pay their mortgages, police here do not earn good money. The same things happens here and we have seen the police visiting "bars". We asked our Tuktuk driver if they were shutting the bar down, he assured us that they weren't, but that they were collecting money.

So on to my shot. We have discovered an authentic Korean restaurant. The chef is Korean as are most of his kitchen staff, his wife is Thai. Their food is delicious and these fried pork dumplings are delicious. We also had steamed egg, which looks like very fluffy scrambled eggs, our final dish was kimbap, which is basically the Korean version of sushi. I will attempt to show you these other dishes.

We are hoping to go on a road trip soon. We have had problems with our car insurance. Hubby received an urgent phone call from our insurance broker, informing him that the insurance company we were with had gone bankrupt, so we were no longer insured. The broker advised him of an alternative company, and we are now insured in principle as
we only have a photo copy of the proposal. Hubby is chasing up an original copy of the policy. Once we have this we can go. Weather wise it is very warm, as we are now in summer. Unfortunately this also means that farmers take advantage of the dry weather to burn off the last of last year's crop, this causes pollution. Fortunately we have had quite a lot of rain over the last few weeks, following a dry rainy season, and it has put out a lot of the fires.

That just about brings you up-to-date with my life here.
