A genteel air of decay

This gorgeous looking church, built out of the local New Red Sandstone, lies half a mile from where we were staying. No-one seemed to know which saint it had been dedicated to but apparently, it is now the home of an artist. It has a suitable air of decay.

A good trip home, unlike the journey there when we were held up for an hour on the M1. And although it took us four hours, the journey seemed much quicker coming back than going.

As we turned down Fairway Road South we saw a police operation in the old bank car park shortly to become an Aldi. A group of travellers had brought their huge caravans into the space and had been told to leave. Police were supervising proceedings. Five vans and a goodly number of constables. One traveller had even gone through the back gate. Would have gone to take a photo but didn't feel up to it.
