Doug Scott

We had a busy day in London . The sun shone and we walked for miles , through Hyde Park , past Buckingham Palace , then all the way the The Tate Modern .
We found a Covid Memorial wall , where Andy added his Uncle Harry’s name .
On our journey back we had a delicious Mexican meal
In the evening we walked across Hyde Park to The Royal Geographical Society to the celebration of the life of Doug Scott. Mountaineering legends Tut Braithwaite , Sir Chris Bonington, Leo Houlding & Stephen Venables recounted tales from Everest , The Ogre and many others.
Doug Scott was an incredible man , his skill and determination as a mountaineer are undeniable, but his humanitarian work with Community Action Nepal is why I got to know of him and eventually got to know him.
Mountaineering is a dangerous business , and so many of their friends died young.
