Fistral Bay

Today we had to say good bye to Newquay's Headland Hotel, which  overlooks Fistral Bay. On our way home the  coach stopped at the Duchy of Cornwall  nursery at Lostwithiel for some horticultural retail therapy. It is a very superior plant centre and  cafe in a stunning location. I managed to restrain myself and bought only a small Rosemary plant. So many of the plants (Camellias, Rhododendrons, etc  would  not survive in my garden's   chalky soil.)
Our next stop was the Fursdon Estate near Cadbury, Exeter. The extra shows the view looking down the drive. After  a stroll through the delightful garden, we enjoyed a delicious  cream tea in the barn/tearoom!
