Gently down the stream

Seeing and not seeing

'Sky' was the subject for today's widwed challenge.  Mmm, on a day like this, with flat light and uniform grey skies that's something of a challenge - but one I decided to take.

So, The Eclipse pub in The Square - a place I've often looked at and taken pics of but never posted (and only once been inside).  It's 16th Century and (for those of you who like that sort of thing) is meant to be one of the most haunted pubs in England.  Its ghost, the 'grey lady' is Lady Alice Lisle, who, having been condemned by Judge Jeffries, stepped out of the centre window you see in Extras, onto the scaffold, where her head was cut off.  Nice, eh?

That last is easy to picture and I have, but it was only today I noticed the painting under the window in the corners of the door frame.  I've looked at the frontage so often and have never seen them.  So for widwed's 'Sky' here they are.

Many thanks to jensphotos for hosting the challenge today.

And wishing you a happy Wednesday evening/Thursday morning  xx
