White hyacinth

and now my white hyacinth are showing

Had a great meeting this morning designing the first hour of my climate finance class.

Steven Colbert made fun of the Russian troop attempts to hide their vehicles. The news report says things like, "surprising lack of sophistication for such an advanced military and further evidence of how ill-prepared some commanders were...breathtaking degree of amateurism."

The Ukrainians are repurposing their junkyards and garages to repair their tanks. The Russians are targeting Ukraine's weapons factories, but for simpler repairs, fixing a tank is like fixing a big truck.

At a zoo in Kharkiv some animals, like deer and moose, were set free into the forest. Many others were evacuated, including great apes, monkeys, turtles, birds, alpacas, a lion, kangaroos, and wallabies.

The US will begin releasing 1 million barrels of oil a day from our strategic reserves. The announcement alone caused oil prices to drop 4%.

A number of Russian troops have left Chernobyl - with radiation sickness. They built fortifications in the most contaminated area. Officially, "Russia agreed to hand back control of the Chernobyl nuclear plant to Ukraine."

My photo editing software, Luminar, is made by a Ukrainian company. Ukraine has impressive IT abilities. Ukraine has created what it describes as an "IT army" to defend against Russian hackers and to launch counterattacks.  The Russian ransomware group Conti, which people have long "wondered" how it has managed to operate in Russia with impunity, said it would "strike back at the critical infrastructure of an enemy" in response to cyberattacks against Russia. Conti has since seen many of its internal documents leaked. Ha.
