Gently down the stream

Changing feathers, changing trains

A Lymington day, replacement bus and all!  Got down there early and came back early, with only a short walk once there, but good enough to see these lovely creatures.  Blipper SueJay50 posted a pic of some yesterday so I was lucky to have my rather hesitant ID of them confirmed.  They are black-tailed godwits.

This individual - and the first extra - show them still in their winter plumage, though if you look carefully you can see a bit of the summer ginger feathers coming through.  In the second extra there are a mix of outfits. They even change their beak colour.  Rather sweet really.

Not a lot else to say except:
WildflowerWeek begins on Sunday, April 3rd and will run all summer.  Each challenge lasts a full week so for the first you can post up until midnight Saturday April 9th.  The tag will be #WFW22_01 and I'll hope to announce hearts and hon mentions by the Tues or Wed following.  I will also put details on the Challenges page..

Have a lovely weekend, all  xx
