Clouds

When I was in Harris and Lewis, one member of our photography group went home and tested positive for Covid. So as soon as we learnt of this the rest of the group have been testing...yesterday and today I felt a cold coming on, and this morning with having a slight cold-like headache I tested again, but thankfully it's all still negative. It only feels like a very mild cold so I am probably over reacting by testing but you never know!

I believe that the new strain of Covid is less contagious, as on average it takes 5.6 days (don't forget the 0.6!) for someone to get it after being in contact with someone else, whereas the Delta strain took only 2 - 3 days. Not one of our photography group have tested positive which is surprising. There was another photography group staying in the same hotel, and their leader tested positive and had to cancel his workshop. The rest of his group went home while he is isolating on the hotel. None of them have tested positive either. In England we are no longer required to isolate if we get Covid, however the government advice is to try and stay away from others for 5 days, or only 3 days if you are 18 years old and under. However most people who get Covid do seem to stay home isolating until they get a negative lateral flow test, which usually takes 10 days, which is how long it seems to take for the viral load to disappear from one's system even though you are probably no longer infectious.

This morning it was sunny and bright, and not as cold as yesterday. Gavin and I took Xena for a lovely walk at Norbury Park, and stopped off for an oat milk cappuccino at the Landrover in the woods - see extra. It has become very popular now, and they even had an open fire going with marshmallows for the children. The clouds looked really good today.

We have had a quiet afternoon at home, I am still busy editing my photos, and Gavin is busy with some work and zoom meetings.
