A Break in the Clouds

Very mixed weather here today.  Cloud, rain, hail and sun.   Always chilly, especially so in the draughty guards van.   My turn was just the one round trip but the 1145 departure time is the most popular and I carried more passengers than the other two trains combined.   At one stage every compartment was occupied.   As we trundled down on our return trip there was a brief shaft of sunlight across the valley .... but by the time we were putting the set away the dark clouds had won out and it was pouring down.

Extra pic - the Talyllyn still uses the original 1865 workshop for engineering work on our locos.  Spot the loco ... and spot the two people working in the pit under it!

Good friend John is staying the weekend in his caravan at Rhydyronen.  He's here for a training weekend on the nearby Corris Railway.   He joined us for tea and by the time we had eaten it had cleared into a blue sky evening.   This allowed us to enjoy a long walk up the Rhydyronen lane, the sky still glowing amber and gold as we retraced our tracks a bit after 8pm.
