a farewell tribute…

…to an artist friend

whose sun has set a final time

i have posted this before - in case it looks - familiar to you - i am doing so again today - to honor my artist friend - who made it - and has now, i’ve come to find out - suffered a very untimely death - and so is no longer with us - it’s straight out of the camera - and i photographed it without - its frame so you could - appreciate its full and unequivocal beauty

if you enlarge - you will note that - this is not a picture - per se, although that is most - definitely what rob desired - you to ‘see’ at first glance - but it’s really a meticulous - culmination of magazine - words and snippets which he - has painstakingly put together - to recreate a sunset - from an actual photo - he took from the woods - somewhere in wisconsin - it’s an incredible showcase of - his creativity as an artist - as well as his ability - to capture a lighthearted - approach to photography - to nature and all of the outdoors

rob loved expressing - himself through the use of words - both on the canvas - and on the stage - we grew up together - so my memories are precious - and sweet yet the grief - isn’t quite something - i can wrap my head around - sudden death does that - makes you shake your head - i will always be grateful - for my friendship with rob - he was truly one - of the good guys - i’m glad i have my memories - but also feel very blessed i have - a piece of him - with his artwork in my home - it will help with - the grief process - and making it closer to…

a

happy day.....
