Life through the lens...

Happy Easter.

A very Happy Easter to you all on this glorious day.
We stated with a walk to the pond and back.
Took a little longer than usual as we kept stopping to talk to people on the way. All enjoying the good weather.

The cherry blossom in the collage is on a new tree ( see extra) planted two years ago and today at it’s best.
One of a few given to Kirklees Council by the Japanese Embassy. Not exactly sure why. Will try and find out.
( Found this out whilst chatting to one of the village in bloom members)

It was certainly a day for flowers. Saw my first clump of bluebells. The bees were buzzing round the dandelions which have now come out everywhere and provide a real splash of bright yellow.
Gorgeous purple aubretia tumbling over walls, and still plenty of daffodils and tulips.

In the garden again now. Planting the potatoes in the bags, and watering the pots.
Have just popped a summer fruit cake in the oven. First this year.
Our youngest son will be round later for an Easter meal. Chicken, which is his favourite. Mustn’t forget the Yorkshire puddings, and the mint sauce. ( he has it with everything!)

I hope you are all enjoying your Easter Day, and are having the same wonderful weather.
