A time for everything

A joyous Easter Sunday

The day dawned sunny, but cold. We had to be at church by 9 this morning to practice with the organ, brass - two trumpets and two trombones - and timpani. As soon as you walked into the sanctuary you could detect the scent from the hyacinths in particular decorating the altar area. It was a wonderful service, beginning and ending with organ and brass, and including two anthems by the choir, a special arrangement of Christ the Lord is risen today for choir, brass and congregation and a song by the Praise Band. There was quite a good congregation, including a number of people who we haven’t seen since before Covid, mainly elderly people who have felt safer watching online at home. When we got home, we had phone calls with my brother and his wife, and my sister. Then we got out for a walk at Shawnee Lookout Hamilton County Park, before our roast lamb dinner followed by Rhubarb crumble. Neither Roger nor I slept at all well last night, so it’s now time for bed!
Hoping my readers had a Happy Easter weekend!
