Almost the Last

The spring flowering bulbs are almost over now.   A few late comers, mostly alliums wait in the wings but this Fritillaria pontica is carrying the flag today.   Another fritillaria a little flattered by the back lighting ... but perhaps we all prefer to be seen in a kindly light?   This species is quite widely grown in gardens and available from specialist bulb nurseries.   It was happy in my sandy raised bed in Norfolk and I will be trying it in the garden here in future but this one is pot grown.

A busy work day at Aber cafe closely followed by a long walk along prom and beach with Meg, having met Jane and John there after their fish and chip supper.   I'm soon off to Jamie's with bangers and mash for a late tea together.
