Thank You For the Days ..

A Walk In The Park

Up to Edinburgh today to check up on developments at the flat. The large tree in the back green has at last been pruned, and it looks a lot better. A lot more sunshine is reaching the ground, at least for now (it's not in leaf yet). I expect it will soon be back to the status quo ante ...

We decided to follow the coast road home, and drove through the Queen's Park to reach it. The gorse on Arthur's Seat was a riot of gold (extra) and the scent of coconut overpowering. I walked around St Margaret's Loch, remembering the days when you could hire a boat and row on it. It seemed much bigger then. The ruins of St Antony's Chapel look very two-dimensional from below, but they must be pretty sturdy to be still standing.

We had another walk, down by the bents at Aberlady. The tide was so far out the water was hardly visible, and a continuous white cloud was lying on the Forth, like a very long roll of cotton wool. It went as far upriver as the eye could see, Fife was completely hidden by it, with just the tips of the Baps visible floating in the clear blue sky above. Strange.
