Pilton

This evening I ventured into an area of Edinburgh I've not been to in years and, fuelled by an excellent large fish supper, I met up with kwchas to watch Edinburgh City play Annan Athletic. It was good to meet him, and we were treated to an entertaining game. City started out like a side needing points, and were soon 2-0 up. Annan steadily got into the game and pulled one back just before half time. Despite their best endeavours in the second half, there was no further score. Although it had been a fine, sunny day, and the light had been pretty as the sun went down, when the temperature plummeted we were glad of the extra layers that we'd brought.

Earlier, I'd spent the morning on the panel judging the final presentations in the UK-wide Operational Research competition that we've run. Again, it was good to be with motivated smart young people performing well, and chat with them afterwards. After a short afternoon's coding I did Mum's shopping and visited her, before going into town for the football.

A good, but very long day!
