Steam Train

Today we visited four of the main tourist attractions in Scotland as we made our way from Edinburgh to Anstruther. Technically speaking I visited four while kwdiane visited three. Guess which one she missed out?

First stop was the Forth Railway bridge where we were fortunate to see a steam train pass overhead. It was completely unexpected and we weren't at the best angle but I do like this picture. As usual it looks better large.

Second stop was the hugely impressive Kelpies which kwdiane has used as her main shot.

Third stop was the Falkirk wheel which is a tremendous feat of engineering

Fourth stop was Stenhousemuir football ground (see extra) for their important clash with Stranraer. Last night's win for Edinburgh City (which I attended) meant nothing short of a win would suit the home side if they wanted to retain their chances of reaching the play-offs. Unfortunately for them they completely blew it and got beaten 3-1 by the visitors who looked a much better team. At half time I discovered I was sitting next to the referee's dad and we had an interesting conversation in the 2nd half. I thought his son had a very good game although home supporters might disagree as he sent off their goalkeeper in stoppage time.

To round off a great day Chester won and are now mathematically safe.
