Loughrigg, with the Langdales behind

Although the day started cloudy, by the time we reached our destination, the sun had come out, and the clouds gradually cleared through the day. Spent the day walking round Loughrigg tarn, and almost being blown off our feet! According to the local news, winds were gusting to 55mph across the Lakes today, fortunately, Loughrigg is sheltered (to some extent) but it was still pretty blowy.

Encountered a new-born lamb who had been rejected by its mother, and was trying every other ewe for milk - hard to watch it being pushed away by the other ewes with such force it was lifted off its feet. Good to see the farmer arrive after a few hours and take it home for bottle feeding - at least it should survive.

Stopped in Grasmere on the way home for the guests to visit the Grasmere gingerbread shop and stock up.

A year ago, we were at the Belvedere in Tuscany on our spring workshop there - two weeks to go before I'm back there.
