At the going down of the sun we will remember them

Today is Anzac Day, a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day was originally devised to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served in the Gallipoli Campaign, their first engagement in the First World War (1914–1918). Today’s blip is of a picture that hubby created in 2020 to commemorate Anzac Day.  It shows stylised poppies and a map of the Dardanelles. Below it is today’s sunset, which I thought appropriate, given the quote.

There are 5,690 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 8,355, compared to 7,986 last Monday. The number of people in hospital is 514, including 18 in ICU. Another 10 deaths have been reported.
