A day of ups and downs.
Up early to take advantage of the tip kindly given to me by my blipper friend Ken Petch that a steam train would be coming over the Arnside viaduct at breakfast time.
Down to the Promenade to find a viewing place.
Up to the eye with the camera. Its a special Jubilee tour which takes a week. From London up into Scotland, down through the Lake Dstrict, through Wales, Devon and Cornwall and back to London. They stay at plush hotels. It costs a fortune.
Down hearted to find that my shots were not as good as they should have been. Camera settings were accidentally wrong. Blame the photographer not the camera.Odd that it happens for shots where you don’t have a second chance.
An extra shows the train over the estuary before it reached the viaduct.
Up the hill back home again. Then Mrs. K. Decided it was time we did something new.
So we drove just over the border into the National Park and we climbed…..
Up Brant Fell. The first Wainwright we have done for some years and in fact a new one for us. Of course it is really only a hillock and comes from his book of small fells for Old Age Pensioners.
Never mind raises Up the spirits and brings back a bit of the elation recalled when getting to the top of all the biggies years ago.
Coming Down was harder than going up and I was very glad to have my Pacer Poles. A grand Day.
