A TULIP BY ANY OTHER NAME

A quiet day today, just admin, tidying etc.

We had a really good night at The Hare & Hounds last night.  The food, service and company were excellent.   The Hare & Houndsis a bit like the TARDIS, although fairly big on the outside  it's even bigger on the inside, or that is what it feels like.

We had a large round oblong table down the few steps, which was a great table for a group meal because we could all see each other.  The room only had one  other table of 4 in there and that wasn't cccupied until much later on, so I felt we were well sheltered away from other people.

It was an extremely busy and popular place  so that is always a good sign.  The only thing is the room downstairs has a very low ceiling, which is fine for me but Hubby (6''2") and G (6') they had to watch where there heads went so they didn't hit the fire  monitor and had to be careful when standing up.  But that was the only thing, everything else was brilliant.   I will go again.

On a walk round the block this tulip caught my eye as it looks more like a peony, but it is a tulip and very gorgeous.

I've manage to book a table at Holbeck Ghyll Coutry House Hotel just outside Windermere for G's belated birthday lunch for Monday.  The only thing is it is a Bank Holiday, I'm just hoping it's not over busy.   Not a lot of time left to have his birthday lunch though a he returns to Edinburgh on Wednesday, by train eeeeekkkkk!!!

This is my entry for Flower Friday.  Very many thanks to BikerBear for hosting.

That's all for today.  Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
