Magnolia Alert...

Aha! The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter...spring is really  starting to happen! Blossoms have been spotted!

I was out in the garden edging one of the shrubbery beds early this morning when the news came  ... a text from my friend and neighbour Elaine..... " Magnolia Alert!"

Elaine is out several times a day walking her dog and on her outings, will often send a text alerting me to a promising blip-op like a very red sunrise about to happen, a new inflatable having appeared on a neighbourhood lawn, or a protest convoy passing on the freeway just a block away...Today it was the news that the blossoms on the magnolia in our neighbourhood park had opened! Perfect!

So much for the edging project..... Off I went into the cold and wind to photograph magnolia blossoms - not an easy task in that wind...but with worse weather coming tonight and tomorrow, it was best not to lose the opportunity, n'est-ce pas?...

It was a good choice..I got a blip..and then later in the day, the rains came and put a damper on the edging as well as on any planned outings - like attending Day 2 of that Studio Tour... it would have been a blip-less day without Elaine's input....

Life is good with friends who text blip-ops!
