Lund Botanical Gardens

We took a wander around the Lund Botanical Gardens this morning before leaving for the airport. It was closed on Saturday when we previously tried to visit it - they don't want it trashing by those celebrating Walpurgis night.... This lovely bird of paradise plant was just by the exit.

It was another sunny day, so it was a shame to leave and return to a rather grey Edinburgh. The journey was easy enough, but a bit tedious. We queued for nearly an hour to get through security at Copenhagen Airport, which admits to not having the staff it needs to run security at sufficient scale now there are people returning to travel in numbers. Our flight was a little late, and there was no mask requirement (Norwegian), but we wore them anyway. On arrival at Edinburgh, the automatic passport gates were apparently having a bad day (I didn't know they could be so moody), so we had to queue for real live passport inspection, after having walked approximately five miles through the queuing system.

Finally, to add insult to injury, we waited for another 50 minutes to get a taxi. Next time we see a queue like that (and no sign of taxis coming) we need to make a quick decision to get the bus or tram into town, and then hop in a taxi there.

Hey ho. Home now. I've sorted out my emails and dispatched lots of good news to people, many of whom are on leave so won't have seen it.... We've done the washing. And had breakfast for dinner as that's what I fancied and it could be supplied by the now reopened Simply Food in the airport.
