Bouncing

We have had a smashing day!  It began with an early off to Fountains Abbey to do the parkrun around the Abbey and Studley Royal Lakes, a fabulous setting.  We were both pleased with our runs, certainly a less challenging course than our own Myrtle.  We had planned to visit the cafe afterwards but we had an invitation we could not possibly refuse.

Euan and his Daddy travelled up by train yesterday to surprise Nana M on her birthday and today everyone was gathering at Monk Park Farm, which included Euan's cousin N and his Mummy and Daddy.  Euan is less interested in the animals than the playpark but we managed to do a short tour of the fields before setting up base on a table in the playpark so that the youngsters could come and go to the giant sandpit and play equipment.  Euan drove several motorised cars with Grandad Tony and his Daddy; destroyed our sandcastles in the sandpit; rode the pedal diggers and tractors through the tyre tunnel; toured the site in the barrel train with Granny Wendy and zoomed down the slide.  Both children were shattered by the time it came to leave and I imagine it wasn't long before thumbs were in and they were off to sleep.  Tony and I were pretty shattered too but we loved it.
