The Speeches

A long journey down to Windsor for a lunch party to celebrate both a cousin's 80th birthday and her late husband's life, both of which occurred in January within a day of each other.

There were lots of people who I'd never seen before and probably won't ever again, but there were a total of five cousin's, two of them over from Canada, and my two brothers. Lovely to see them all! The photo, taken by a brother, shows only one room, the other was through the doors.

The buffet at the Oakley Court Hotel was simple but tasty and the birthday cake was a very chocolatey sandwich with jammy macaroon decoration - it was just as well I only had a smallish piece.

Five hours driving... but worth it.
