An ordinary life....

Here comes the sun...

When we went to bed last night the wind was howling round our little holiday house and the rain was lashing against the windows.

When I woke up just after 3am the wind was still howling and the rain lashing.  Same again at 6am and 8.30am.  In fact it continued, just as the weather forecast predicted, until just after 4pm, when the clouds lifted and revealed the hills and silver strands of light shone across West Loch Tarbert.

Having had a lazy day yesterday and a lazy morning this morning, and a full cooked Scottish for brunch, we were all keen for some fresh air and got into Ele and Kenny's car and headed to Tarbert to stock up on a few things.  We parked in the main car park and Kenny and I stayed in the car while Ele and David headed to two different shops to get what we needed.  Ele returned first.

David and Ele had been sitting in the back of the car on the way to Tarbert when she realised the child locks were on.  When she got back to the car she put the window down and lent out to disengage the child lock.  It was just out of her reach so she lent further out of the car, which must have looked as though she was trying to escape out the window as a man came sprinting over from the other side of the car park to ask her if she was ok and if she needed any help.  He took a bit of convincing everything was fine.  I think he thought she was being kidnapped!  lol!  I'm not sure what he thought of Kenny and I sitting the front seemingly ignoring her escape attempts! Hahahahaha!

David returned with tonic (yay!) and we headed off for a drive around Scalpay.  Alan's support worker Christine is from Scalpay and her mum still lives here.  We are hoping to pop in for a cuppa with her next week.  It's Christine's holiday house we are staying at in Stornoway next week (and where we stayed when we came here in 2019.)

Stopped on our way back to take in some fresh air, enjoy the views and let Ele and Kenny take note of a circular walk near Tarbert.

We got back to the house and were just in the door 10 minutes when the clouds swallowed up the hills opposite once more and the rain came teeming down.

I love the sound of a Scottish summer as it batters against the windows :-))
