Stuff and Nonsense

Dipper delight #58

We had a brilliant morning watching the dipper fledglings being fed by their parents at Yarrow Valley this morning. The light on the river was as challenging as ever with the sun coming and going continually.
There were at least 3 sets of dipper chicks and lots of photographers about. The problem is that you cannot get down to their level as they are down in the river and we are quite high above them, but they were a delight to see and try and photograph.  However, I do draw the line at climbing over the barriers and clambering down the steep bank to within 10 feet of them, but this did not stop at least 6 different photographers from doing this.  Apart from the fact that this looked quite dangerous, it is just irresponsible to get so close, which they should have realised by the fact that the dipper chicks kept hopping further and further down the river.  It does annoy me.
A couple more shots in extras of one of the chicks being fed and the view from the little bridge over the river.
