Time's up for Keep Calm

Keep calm and carry on was an effective WWII slogan, and was then forgotten. A poster was discovered by fabulous Barter Books at Alnwick Station, one of our routine Saturday haunts when we lived in the Scottish Borders. To start with, just the poster was reproduced and it struck a chord. But then it turned up on mugs, notebooks, car keys, dish cloths, till it became an omnipresent  cliché.

This was at the tip today. If Keep Calm has descended to this, is it way past time to flush the whole concept down the toilet?
