Walk in the woods

Phin decided 6am was an acceptable time to come upstairs (we may need to start shutting the kitchen door again!) and bash on the bedroom door. At least he just curled up on the bed and went back to sleep.

After waking again at the much more civilised time of 9 and a quick trot round the stream, I make a sneaky fried breakfast of sausage, bacon and egg. Kitchen cleaning was on the agenda after breakfast. Why did I get a glass cooker hood? It picks up all the dust and cooking particles but at least it’s easily cleaned! After cleaning the hob, I tacked the windows and folding doors whilst Mr PHL got on with the garden. 2 loads of washing done and out in the line.

A quick shower and I headed off with Phin to Roslin Glen. We’d not been for ages and it was a gorgeous day to be out and about. Phin loved romping in the woods and splashing in the river. It’s very up and down so total distance wasn’t huge but it was good to be out.

Home and Phin crashed out on the sofa after 10 minutes in the garden. When we tried to wake him for dinner he wasn’t very responsive and then we noticed the twitching. We eventually got him off the sofa but he seemed really uncoordinated so I called the vets and they said to bring him up. We had to roll him onto a blanket to get him to the car as he wasn’t interested in walking so I was starting to get concerned.

The vet was lovely and looked him over thoroughly before she advised that he was showing signs of having eaten something toxic so wanted to run some blood tests and keep him in overnight on a fluid drip. Of course we said yes. He’s a worry!

So now sitting watching Eurovision and keeping an ear out for an update phone call.

At least I’m posting this on the right day!
