Almost an abstract...!

There's another new housing estate being built next to one of my regular walking routes (on green field again - I do wish they'd use up all brownfield sites first!). Anyway I found the criss-crossing of (mostly new) underground pipes and cables rather interesting and reckoned it would suffice for today's blip. I had to take the photo through a wire-netting fence so apologies for the blurred line across it.

As far as I know, blue is fresh water, yellow is gas, red is mains electricity and purple is one of the fibreoptic broadband "flavours". We take all these things for granted don't we? - except if they go wrong!
