Camper Van Life

We made a quick trip with our camper to a swimming spot on the lake you see in the picture. It's a bit cold still for picnics, and you'd have to be a real viking to go swimming just now, so we weren't surprised to be alone.
There was a lot of bird life on and around the lake, and sitting in the camper was like being in a hide. The birds totally ignored us, and some swallows (the first seen this year) actually perched briefly on the van as they paused in their hoovering up of insects. They also swooped down to the water's surface, just dipping in without stopping their flight. Were they drinking, or scooping up insects? Canada geese started in the field behind us but then flew down to the lake. Ducks dived under the surface and left us guessing where and when they would surface again. A few gulls swooped around, and two Artic terns seem to have decided the raft off the end of the jetty belonged to them.
This was our 4th night sleeping out this year and we are so happy with this relatively easy way of getting out into the countryside and forest.
Long may it last!
