The forecast was not good so we postponed our trip to Bempton. (In the end we had very little rain and quite a bit of sun.) We decided to stay local and just went up to Flamborough Head. We can’t understand why we have never been before, as we have explored most of this coast quite extensively over the years, especially when we were living in Bradford. When I was a child we had holidays in Skipsea and I know we came here as I remember the lighthouse, but that was a long time ago.

So we had a lovely wander along the headland, very few people about. Gordon saw many birds so he was happy. Back in Brid a fish and chip lunch, sitting in the sunshine on the promenade watching the sea, was perfect. The sea was calm, but lots of waves - I love the sound and sight of waves and was quite content to sit and read my book whilst Gordon went down to the beach and wandered along to the harbour.

Later in the afternoon we returned to the promenade and watched the high tide with huge waves splashing over the prom.
