An ordinary life....

Road to the Butt of Lewis...

David and Kenny were on Stornoway golf course at 9am.  They returned just before 12.30pm saying they'd enjoyed the course even though they both played as though it was their first time on a golf course!  lol

We had lunch together then Ele and Kenny headed off to visit the Black Houses and we headed to Port of Ness.

I never cease to be amazed by how flat Lewis is compared to Harris (see extra) The magic on Lewis happens around the coastline.

We arrived at Port of Ness and had planned to visit the cafe and have a seat on the the little bench overlooking the harbour that I loved so much on our last visit in 2019.  Unfortunately it was closed!  It is closed on a Sunday and Monday.  We should have checked before we left the house!

Unfortunately it was also too cold, wet and windy to get out and wander so I didn't get the shots of the sea from the harbour that I wanted, but we have time to go back before we head home.

We carried on to the Butt of Lewis to see the lighthouse.  Very attractive it is too and fabulous views.  Would have been nice to have spent longer there but we were frozen, despite being well wrapped up.  Again we can return if the weather improves.

Stopped and picked up some scones, and D popped into Charlie Barliey's to get steak pie for dinner.

Tomorrow is Ele and Kenny's last day.  They leave on Wednesday as they have to be home in time for a wedding on Saturday.  We have really enjoyed them being with us and will miss their company for the last few days.

I wish the weather had been better for them but even though they didn't get to walk am much as they'd hoped, I think they have been seduced by the magic and beauty of the Outer Hebrides.  I hope so anyway :-)

More coastline shots in extras :-)
