Layers of blossom

The tiered branches of this Cornus Controversa give this small tree it’s common name, Wedding Cake Tree. The blossom this year is superb, as is much of the blossom in the garden. However, despite the wind, it all seems to be hanging on well.

Due to the wet weather, there was an unusual event in our house, the ironing board made a rare appearance and a number of essential items got ironed. However, this madness didn’t last long. The sun made a very welcome entrance in the second half of the afternoon and Bertie and I were  able to escape outside once more. (N had spent the day happily in his shed  doing woodturning.)
