Tiny Tuesday ...

... First Eastern black swallowtail eggs laid.

As some of you know we raise and release both monarch butterflies and Eastern black swallowtail butterflies.  This past winter we overwintered forty swallowtail chrysalids.  Up to today we have released nineteen (two today alone) and Debbi released eight for us whilst we were on vacation last week.

Now I can't say in all certainty that the butterfly pictured above is one of "ours" but there's a pretty good chance.  I was excited to see that she was laying new eggs for us to take care of ... they are the first of the season.  You can see one of the eggs in the thumbnail ... it's located on the stem of the parsley and is yellowish in color. And very tiny.

Thanks to H0tamer for hosting Tiny Tuesday this month.
