Aperture on Life

Silver Birch

It's been another day of dramatic clouds providing a natural backdrop to the colours illuminated by the sunshine. The few raindrops that fell were more likely to miss than hit you. I didn't even need to cover the camera.

One of the trees that, in my opinion, benefits most from the back skies and dark shadows is the Silver Birch. This one stands alone amongst the heather and the gorse and just caught the last rays of sun from an angle that shaded the fir trees beyond. Simply beautiful.

What you can't see in this image are the little green buds that are ready to burst or the jewels left by the rain droplets that failed to miss the tree.

Friday folk! A late evening walk at last, without worrying about the time. The added bonus; it's beginning to look a bit more seasonal out there!
