A different walk

After breakfast we decided to go walk somewhere different today - so we went to Morden Hall Park, a National Trust property about 25 minutes away that I have never visited before. Dogs are allowed off the lead except is a few areas so Xena enjoyed her walk there very much. We picked up coffees from their café which we took on our walk.

When we got home it was lunch time so we went into the village as there is a popular vegetarian café that we thought would be good for a light lunch - it is very popular and is usually full, but today we found a table (which happened to be next to Louise Redknapp) and enjoyed a lovely light lunch followed by an excellent cappuccino.

It has been an eventful day for both Luke and Meriel - for Meriel it was a chance to watch her beloved Sunderland football team play at Wembley in the League One playoff final, which all her family attended - there were thousands of fans in Trafalgar Square last night who had come to London to watch this final - and they won, which was good news for them. For Luke, not such a fun day - after he finished his Chartered Accountancy exams in December he enrolled for the Certified Financial Analyst course and today he is writing the exam for level one - it is from 3pm to 8pm today, a 5 hour exam of which only 30% pass, so a tough one. What a ridiculous time for an exam but I suppose when you are at work all week it is the best time for the candidates.

I spoke to both Tommy and Adam today - Adam is very pleased as he is attending a science conference in New York in November, which will be funded for him. Tommy is pleased his exams are over although he is now working on his engineering project - and his rugby team have decided to start rowing to maintain fitness over the summer, which he is enjoying very much.
