Acrobatics...!

This must be straight out of the damselfly kama sutra, I think! They made a good blippertunity for us today during a visit to Grey Lake RSPB Nature Reserve here in Somerset.

We visited the reserve as part of a day out to visit a hill with the intriguing name of Burrow Mump, which our son & his partner wanted to see. It's about an hour's drive west of Bath. From Wikipedia:
"The hill stands at a strategic location overlooking the point where the River Tone and the old course of the River Cary join the River Parrett. Although there is some evidence of Roman visitation, the first fortification of the site was the construction of a Norman motte. It has been called King Alfred's Fort, however there is no proof of use by Alfred the Great. A medieval church was built on the hill in the 15th century. The current ruined church on top of the hill was built in 1793. The land and ruin were donated to the National Trust in 1946 as a war memorial."

The first extra shows the hill itself, the second (taken through one of the arches) allows you to see Glastonbury Tor in the distance. (Our route took us very close to Glastonbury itself where we saw evidence of preparations for this year's festival in a month's time - but we don't plan to return for it!)
