Mr Jingles

…is our neighbour’s cat. They are away and jingles arrives at our door soon after we let him out in the morning. He is the most affectionate cat ( which makes him a bit annoying if you are busy) and heads to the most comfy place if we allow him inside.

We had an election debrief meeting this morning. Our candidate did well …..the incumbent had a buffer of over 13% and she has decreased this significantly. The office was overflowing with very excited volunteers. There were 700 volunteers across the electorate which has evolved from a grass roots campaign called Voices For Calare. We got some seed funding from a group wanting to help climate active independents and after 18 months of community consultation came up with the top 10 policies. The rest of the finances were raised by members. We felt like democracy was in action after years of neglect. The election was very messy as there were so many different things happening. Happy with labour as main party with independents and greens so we can accelerate our response to climate and integrity among other things.

We visited Bryan and family as they have had Covid. We head off tomorrow for holidays so we won’t see them for ages.

We are both feeling very tired tonight.
