Haworth 40’s Weekend

I don’t seem to be getting on too well with buses just lately! Went down the village this morning to catch the Jet Bus to Keighley and yet again it arrived early.  Luckily the driver decided on a time stop so I just made it.  Arriving in Keighley I had to watch 3 full buses go out before I was able to get on the bus to Haworth.  It was rammed with people.  I got off by the station, sadly just seeing the Lancaster Bomber disappearing, so no photos there.  The park and the Main Street were mobbed, so it was slow going getting through the crowds and trying to take photos. The lovely couple in the main photo were happy to pose, and we had quite a chat.  There was a wedding car up by the church - the chauffeur was wondering how he would manage to get out of the village.  I wonder if the bride and groom knew what would be taking place when they booked the date?! Had enough after a while and wandered out of the village to Penistone Hill as it was a while before the bus was due.  Returning to the bus stop the bus was due in 4 minutes,  It finally turned up an hour later! Still, I had a long chat with an elderly man who was new to the village and was very confused by what was going on, and wondered why there were British and German soldiers wandering around together!  :-). A few more photos in extras - took lots of images, but it was photo overload! Got back home and had to dash around getting ready for tonight - community choir party night!  A brilliant do with a lovely meal and great company.  We missed winning the quiz by just half a point, but having drunk lots of Prosecco already, our “boss” then bought us another bottle, plus red wine for the other ladies. A step too far trying to get through all that, so lots of dancing to ward off the effects!  Think we retained our reputation by being almost the last to leave :-0))
