Quod oculus meus videt

A double Samara (Acer Palmatum)

It grieves me when I need to prune our Acer palmatum atropurpureum in our garden.  Originally planted in a pot, it was planted out in the garden some 17 years ago and now stands about 10 feet tall.  Its spread now comes across the path from the side entrance into the garden and needs to be dealt with each year.  We only have a small garden and it is the marquee plant, so everything we can do to keep it looking good is done.  Thankfully, with the exception of this pruning it looks after itself.

Technical:  This is a 30 shot focus stack (in Helicon Focus) and frustratingly I still don't have the right hand wing in full focus.
