Quod oculus meus videt

Acer palmatum atropurpureum

This small tree now take pride of place in our garden.  Sitting on the patio looking back at it in the garden, backlit by the sun, it is hard to believe it was originally in a small pot.  It is now a good 10 ft high with similar spread.  The only thing I do to it is to prune it liberally each year as it is close to the path around the conservatory.

The weather was great for most of the day, I walked to the swimming pool in shorts, grabbing a coffee on the way back.  I sat in the local park for a while, only to notice a number of reports of problems with the website.  I shouldn't have worried, the tech team were already on the case and I just had to get some messages out on other social media to let members know what was happening.  Within a short time it was fixed.

Thankfully these instances are rare, but it is always noticeable how much it affects members when Blipfoto isn't available.  In over 7 years running the site, I can only remember a handful of such instances.  Testament indeed to the lead developer on the redesign of the site in 2014 and our technical bods who keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
