Another castle

We drove towards Bamburgh this morning, using the carpark by the sand dunes, and then walked all the way across the beach to Budle Point, then fought our way up through the dunes and skirted round the golf club where it started to rain.

Coats on, cameras packed away we followed the footpath through overgrown gorse, a bluebell wood and alongside a wheat field.  By the time we reached the road back to Bamburgh we were rather wet from the knees down.

Tea, scones and toasted teacakes were consumed in town before heading back up the road to the car park.  16,250 steps today (14,000+ yesterday), so another five miles plus.

Lots of skylarks, whitethroats, martins, swallows.  I’ve added a couple of extras.
