In the greenhouse

This is the newer and sunnier of two end-to-end greenhouses, both of which are now filling with tomato plants, most of which will stay inside to try to avoid blight, and vegetable plants waiting to go in the garden. Some are ready but need to avoid the possibility of frost over the next few nights, others just need to grow more and be hardened off. The tubs of herbs - tarragon, basil, marjoram and oregano - will move to the balcony soon. Sunday was a much-needed potting day: the last tray of tomato plants were moved from their modules into intermediate pots, overcrowded lettuces separated into individual modules to grow a bit and perk up before being planted out, and the first five cucumber plants given larger pots. The second sowing of cucumbers are still indoors - P is looking forward to another summer of gazpacho and ajo blanco, so we will need a lot! It was a lovely day to be outside.
