High in the Alps

…. And down on the Welsh coast. Anthyllis vulneraria aka Kidney Vetch, Ladies Fingers, Grannies Pincushions and other names too. It brings to mind holidays in Switzerland where I have seen it in similar profusion. See Hilary’s blip for today featuring a classic alpine of the same hue.

Out with C and the Megs at the mouth of the Dysinni where there were masses of this and Lotus corniculatus aka Birds Foot Trefoil - extra pic - which I find has abundant Welsh common names too. We had a lovely, peaceful walk while the dogs often gave each other exercise as they raced around.

Then home to pack Ruth’s things into the car for the trip back to her home. We lunched with Jamie, more birthday cake, before heading east. Heavy rain in the midlands … could do with it on my garden!

A very big thank you for all the birthday wishes, topping up the warm feelings after a lovely day.
