Lala's Journal

Buds

This rose was planted for B’s mum, and had some of her ashes scattered with it when planted in the pot, some 20 years ago.

What a great day today! B is better than he’s been for the
last three weeks. The meds  change has certainly worked. This morning, I was still asleep when he took himself to the bathroom with the frame, and washed and dressed himself! When the carer came, we just chatted as there was nothing for her to do.

Tomorrow the boys are coming just for a couple of hours, Mollie too and we plan to make it a happier time than last week for them. We have a humanist celebrant coming too, so that B can have some input into his own funeral. We have always been realistic and practical and have in the past discussed our wishes with each other, but I am still proud of B’s desire to make things easier for us all when he’s not here. I realise after chatting with Moira yesterday that this is hard for some friends to hear and understand, but I fully believe that we should cope in the way that suits ourselves in such a situation.
