Trainspotting

I couldn’t visit Whitby without taking a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. So it was that my friends and I had a most enjoyable trip on the train - diesel-hauled in part and steam-hauled for the rest of the journey - down to Pickering this morning.

Time to explore the castle and the church, time for lunch, and then back on the train to Whitby. Another steam and diesel combination.

A walk out onto the pier and finished the day with cod and chips, as one does, in a Whitby fish restaurant. I could get to like this.
