‘Imminent Arrivals?’

Not long to go now for Napoleon and Josephine, the swans on Inverleith Pond!

Still no cygnets yet, but signs that the long wait is almost over. All was looking peaceful when I passed by this evening, but Napoleon could just be seen sleeping next to his mate in expectation.

We know that they started work on their nest at the beginning of April, and have been sitting on it permanently since at least 20th April. I managed to get a photo of at least some of the eggs on 2nd May.

So within the next week, perhaps? If so it will still be the best part of a month later than last year!
