Wound up in Wexford

Dunblane cathedral

We had an excellent night's sleep, and this morning enjoyed the pealing of the cathedral bells as we ate our poached eggs.

We've had a mainly sedentary day, but we did venture out to walk to the local Tesco.  We walked through the cathedral yard - extensive temporary railings prevent access to most of the gravestones, which are apparently "unsafe, and at risk of falling".  They rendered any closer photograph of the cathedral ugly.

We found a nice riverside path, with interesting old stone plinths growing lots of moss and vegetation.  This led us to a bridge over the river.  We arrived there just as the first runners were getting to the end of what I later discovered was a 12km road race.

After getting our shopping, we walked back by a slightly different route.  I liked this view of the cathedral.  I also found the remains of what is believed to be the old Bishop's Palace.

Now planning early dinner, and thinking about what we do tomorrow.
