The noted house for paper bags

Last night I stayed over with youngest son Joe and his partner C, human parents of Albi the border terrier pup. We spent yesterday evening at the Roundhouse at a much anticipated gig (not great extra) and the first I’ve been to for 3 years. It’s the first time Joe, his sister H and I have been to a live music event together for at least 10 years, it was lovely to reform the team and to welcome in H’s partner.

The Roundhouse felt like a Covid hotspot, but we’d all individually decided to take the risk on this occasion. We may have been the only people with masks… because y’know, the pandemic is over (hah!)

Today we strolled around Joe’s neighbourhood, which is a curious mixture of vanishing businesses, like Donovan Bros in the main, purveyors of fine paper (I love the muted colours), contrasted with lots of growing ones, like some of the wonderful street food sellers, which we made full use of for lunch. Obviously Albi came with us and while we waited for our freshly-made spinach and feta flatbreads, he watched some workmen and I got the chance to capture the tiger stripes on his cute little head. The stripes will likely disappear as he grows but they are so captivating I had to record the moment in extras.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekends and have perhaps reluctantly reverted to winter jumpers with the unwelcome drop in temperature (yes I know I’m a #southernsoftie).

Thanks for recent stars, hearts and kind comments, all much appreciated and I will catch up with your journals this week - honest!
