A Day Worth Recording

Beacon to Beacon

We live about mid-way along the Malverns so we walked up to see what was happening this evening (about our one acknowledgement of the jubilations as we have a very busy weekend with a large pandemic-postponed group booking).

To the north the highest peak is the "Worcestershire Beacon", to the south it's "British Camp or Herefordshire Beacon".  The border between Worcestershire and Hereford runs along the hills.

The main blip is the Herefordshire one - mainly because of the 2nd distant beacon in the shot.  Worcestershire is consigned to the extras.

There were a lot of beacons visible, 20 comfortably, and you got a small tinge of the emotion people must have felt when seeing these lit for their original purpose - to communicate invasion by a foreign force.
